Tuesday, September 11 summer assessment day 2

If you have finished your summer reading assessment, you have time today to review or continue the reading on the First Amendment that was handed out on Friday. If you do not have it with you, it is on last Friday's blog.

REMINDER: tomorrow you have an assessment on the above reading. This will consist exactly of those questions I posted last Friday. Here is a copy: Make sure you have read the material carefully, noting especially: 1. What is speech? 2. What is protected under speech? 3. What is defamation, causing panic, fighting words, incitement to crime, sedition and obscenity? 4. How have the courts addressed the restriction of speech in relation to religion? 5. John Stewart Mill and the harm principle. You will also be selecting one of the questions at the end of the reading and responding in paragraph form.
I would suggest you open a word document and respond to the above questions. This will solidify the material for you
