IN CLASS:
As part 2 of the two-day federal grant experiment, you will be writing what is called a microtheme. This is is described as "a little bit of writing preceded by a great deal of thinking." That reading and synthesis statements are the thinking bit you did yesterday.

Here goes: Discuss how the presidential election has impacted the globe.  You will need a strong thesis statement.  On the classroom wall you will find your synthesis statements from yesterday. Look them over and begin your response with one of these.

You are not expected, of course, to use textual evidence, but having just read and reflected upon the material yesteday, you should be able to write throughtfully.

This is due at the close of class. As far as I am concerned for the class, the rubric is based on a clearly stated thesis, content knowledge, grammar, punctuation and language conventions.  They will be anonymously submitted for the project.
